POLISH BRED HORSES CONQUER QATAR! - QATAR INTERNATIONAL EQUESTRIAN FESTIVAL AD – DAUHA

In recent days (19 – 26.02) the event taking place in Qatar’s capital Ad – Dauha we could enjoy at least a few moments of sunlight. A few moments because even here the weather tends to be fickle. The organizer of the event was the Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club. During the Class A ECAHO Show Polish bred horses, or more precisely, their female representatives, marked their presence very clearly by winning high scores from the judges.

In the Class A two-year old fillies the second place, with a score of 91.5 points, was given to Eshila (Kahil Al Shaqab – Estaka/Gazal Al Shaqab) bred by Mr Krzysztof Goździalski (Falborek Arabians) and owned by the Al Rajhia Stud. The first place in this class went to Aj Reedy (AJ Portofino – Aj Raheda/WH Justice) bred and owned by the Ajman Stud. In Class B the runner up was Orla Turnia (Shanghai EA – Orlanka/Aslan) bred by Stan Red Arabians and owned by the Al Thumama Stud winning 91.25 pkt. The winner of this class was Mounira J (Emerald J – Magnificent Lady J/Extreme).

In the three 3 year old fillies class the contest was between horses of Polish origin. Both the runners up in Class A and B were daughters of Michałów’s Polonia, Penelope K.A (bred by Knocke Arabians owned by the Al Thumana Stud) and Pyronia K.A. (bred by Knocke Arabians and owned by Mr. Mohammed Bin Dalim Al Othaibi). The lovely Piacolla, raised in SK Michałów who represented the Athabah Stud won in Class B with a score of 92.25 pts. In Class A the first place went to Sahwat Al Khalediah with 91.63 pts.

In the 4-6 years old mares class the outstanding Perfinka (Esparto – Perfirka/Gazal Al Shaqab), bred by SK Białka, triumphed with a winning score of 93.13 pts. She won very high scores for type and movement.

However, the climax of the show was in the 11 years and older mares class, which was a battle of giants. Pinga (Gazal Al Shaqab – Pilar/Fawor) and Norma (Gazal Al Shaqab – Nina/Monogramm) were presented in the arena and proved unequalled. Pinga from Janów, leased by the Al Jawza Stud, was given 94 pts. including several „20s” for type and movement. Nonetheless the winner was Norma, raised in Michałów. She defeated her rival by a small difference in points winning a total  score of 94.38 pts., which was the highest score of the show.

Norma and Piacolla reaffirmed their dominating position during the Saturday Championships by winning gold. Pinga had to step down to the mare Anood Al Nasser (Ashhal Al Rayyan - Aleysha Al Nasser/ Gazal Al Shaqab) and won bronze. Orla Turnia won the Top Five title. Unfortunately Perfinka won no medal, which was a considerable surprise.

The results of the Championships are presented below.
