ARABIAN DERBY 2015

On 26 July, ater the summer break, the Arabian Derby on a distance of 3000 m took place at the Służewiec Race Course. The main favourite was the chestnut Alladyn bred by the late Bogdan Tomaszewski, owned by Małgorzata and Paweł Włostowski and Małgorzata Ejneberg – Illis and Piotra Illis. The stallion fully met the expectations of his fans and won in great style, ridden by Szczepan Mazur. At the finish the invincible Alladyn left his rivals far behind to prove his outstanding form. His trainer Andrzej Laskowski no doubt had a fair share in the success. Alladyn’s sire is the stallion Von (Tidjani – Verduronette/Dormane), his dam being Alba Longa (Ostragon-Al-Ada/Wermut).

The runner up was quite unexpectedly Mufid (Akbars – Mukata Fata/Czubuthan), the second runner up Szakur (Akbars – Sulima out of Reguła/Etar), the fourth place going to Arash (Akim de Ducor – Almina/Furiat) and the fifth to Omar (Akim de Ducor – Om-Karma/Wiliam). Mufid’s second place was a surprise indeed!

The race for the Figaro Prize (four years old and older Arabians, 2400 m, category B) also aroused great emotions. The winner was Westim (Nougatin - Wienerva/ Santhos) with Piotr Piątkowski. Westim is trained by Andrzej Walicki and owned by Krzysztof Falba. The runner up in this race was Ziko (Marwan I – Zbójna Góra/Egon) and the second runner up Nadim (Dijon – Neringa/Gepard).

On Saturday, in the race for Amurath’s Prize, the victor was Poryw (Nougatin – Pasima/Ecaho), who won in great style ridden by Tadhema O’Shea and trained by Andrzej Walicki. His breeder and owner is Grzegorz Sęczek. After a tough fight on the turf for the second place the runner up was ultimately Boy Miracle (Dragomir – Bint Madonah/Eldon), who overtook Mufhuz Fata (Chndaka – Minerva/Santhos) by a nose.
