XXIX SPRING PURE-BLOODED ARABIAN HORSE YOUTH SHOW IN BIAŁKA

This year Białka welcomed us with the sunny weather that accompanied us during the whole show. Admittedly, sometimes the temperature was a burden, but small clouds every once in a while allowed us to take a respite. The Horse Stud from Janów Podlaski shone the brightest in the sun, as they won four medals (three gold and one silver). They also got the title of the Best Horse of the Show, i.e. Best in Show! A total of 90 horses met in the ring (100 were entered), including 50 horses from private breeding. In the final, the breeders shared the medals in half: 6 medals were awarded to the private breeders and 6 to the state studs. The stud from Janów Podlaski won four medals and the studs from Białka and Michałów won one medal each.

Ready, set, go! Yearling fillies and colts

Yearling colts (competing in two classes, each with 10 competitors) started the Saturday’s competition (01.06). The highest score in the yearling colts category was equal to 91.00 points, and was achieved by stallion Freyson (ES Harir - Future / Kahil Al Shaqab) bred / owned by A. Wójtowicz. Slightly lower scores were obtained by his friend from the stable, colt Gerry (ES Harir - Gracy / EF Simply Marvelous) who got 90.83 points. In the final, the little ones surprised their breeder as they both stood on the podium. Freyson left Białka with a gold medal and Gerry with a brown one. The silver medal went to another stallion also from the private breeding - Star Farid (EKS Star of Africa / Marwan Al Shaqab), bred and owned by W. Parczewski, who got 90,67 points in the class. Yearling fillies competed in three classes with a total of 26 competing horses. The highest score (92.67 points) was achieved in the IVB class, and was awarded to Janów's filly - Aplia (Pomian - Amina / Ekstern), who "earned " her victory not only in the class but also in the Championships and won a gold medal for Janów. As one of the few, Aplia presented trot with a suspension phase and got awarded two "20s" for movement. It seems that Janów has got an interesting rising star. Time will tell because, as you know, in case of Arabian horses time works in their favor.

Second in the class after Aplią and third in the Championships was El Farida (RFI Farid - Esmeta / Ekstern) (91,00 points) bred and owned by A. Najmowicz. What’s more, the winner of the IVA class - filly El Romantika (QR Marc - Etiffani / Justify) bred and owned by W. Parczewski, won the silver medal in the Championships. In the finals, there are only three places for the best horses. That is why a little feeling of disappointment turned up when the fourth place went to Janów's Basilia (Pogrom - Binduga / Kahil Al Shaqab), who despite the fact that the judges were reluctant to give away "20s", earned one "20" for the type. Let’s hope that there’s still a lot more to come for this young lady.

Unanimous victory! Two- and three-year-old stallions.

Two-year-old stallions competed in two classes, each with four competing horses. Stallion Ascot DD’s sons (Glorius Apal - Lady Nina DD / Psytadel) were the leaders. It’s obviously last year's champion and Best in Show, Parillus from Parilla to Enzo from Białka,, who won in IIA class with a score of 90.83 points. In the final, however, he had to step aside and give his place to another Ascot DD stallion’s son - Eskimt from Eugar to Om El Bellissimo. Erantis outclassed its rivals with the score of 92.50 points. He received high marks for movement: one "20" and 2x19.5 points. The second in this class was gray Pireno (Shanghai EA - Pirana KA / QR Marc) bred and owned by P. Redestowicz. In the Championships, Erantis was second to none and the jury unanimously gave him the gold medal. The Silver medal went to Parillus (last year the distribution of forces between the stallions was exactly the opposite), and the bronze one was won by Pireno stallion from the private breeding. In the three-year-old stallion class only three horses took part in the competition. The best was Chaos Uriel (Psyche Keret - Chaos Persefona / Poganin), bred and owned by K. Poszepczyński.

More and more „20”! Two- and three-year-old mares

Sunday (02.06) morning belonged to two-year-old mares, who competed in two classes, each consisting of 11 and 12 competitors respectively. As it turned out later, we finally got to a small “rain of 20s", for which we had been waiting for so long and which were not willingly given by the judges. In the VA class, Encarin from Janów(Ascot DD - Eneria / QR Marc) presented by Gerard Kurtz definitely stood out. Encarin won the first place with a bang, accompanied by the applause from the audience. She received as many as five "20s": two for type and head and neck and one for movement, which accounted to 93.17 points. It was the highest score of the show.

The second place in the class was won by the "flying” Tower of Secrets (Ascot DD - Wieża Marzeń / Ekstern). She got all the 20s possible as the first one at this show. It was a well-deserved win as during the presentation she seemed not to touch the ground. In total, she obtained 92.00 points. The VB class was owned again by the mares from state breeding and also presented a pretty high level as to get the first place one had to get 93,17 points. This result was reached by the daughter of the greatest Palmeta and stallion Ascot DD and Janów’s “pupil” –grey Pascuala. Pascuala also got five “20s”: two for type and movement and one for head and neck.

Just behind her with a small difference of 93.00 points was Protekcja (Ekstern - Pentra / Poganin) from Michałów. The mare presented a very good movement with a suspension phase which translated into three "20s". Nine young ladies took part in the three-year –old mares VI class. Ekstern's daughter, grey Estelda bred by K. Goździalski, scored the best, with judges awarding her with a strong score of 92.67 points. The second in the class was Michałów's Parantella (Kahil al Shaqab - Palanga / Ekstern) with 92.33 points. The most important podium, however, was taken by two-year-old mares in the following order: Encarina - gold, Pascuala - silver and Protekcja- bronze. In addition to the gold medal, Encarina brought the Best in Show title to Janów. It was definitely her day.
