In the French climate - Mediterranean & Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championships.
Menton is a town in southern France, along the Franco-Italian border. It has been known among tourists as la perle de la France, that is "the pearl of France". It was in Menton that Arabian horse breeders celebrated the first day of summer. All because of the Mediterranean & Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championships held on 21-22 June 2014. Middle Eastern stables made up the majority of visitors to the event. The jury comprised a group of seven jurors: Koenraad Detailleur (Belgium), Manfred Hain (Germany), Murillo Kammer (Brasil), Francesco Santoro (Italy), Renata Schibler (Switzerland), along with Poland's representative, Dr Marek Trela.
Arabian horses bred in Poland marked their presence only with a delicate accent. The grey stallion Equiborn (QR Marc - Espadrilla/Monogram) came top in the class of 2-year-olds and won a bronze medal among junior males. The stallion, bred by the Knocke Arabians stud, received 92.7 points including 1x20 for the type. Piacenza (QR Marc/Primawera), a mare bred in Michałów and owned by Al Shahania Stud, came sixth in the class of 4-7-year-old mares. Etoryk (Om El Shahmaan/ Etnologia) ended up on the same position in the class of 4-7-year-old stallions. It was bred in Janów Podlaski, and it is owned by Flaxman Arabians from Belgium.
The title of Senior Male Champion was unanimously awarded to the exciting Marquis CAHR (Marwan Al Shaqab – Rohara Magnifica/Echo Magnifficoo) of Al Khalediah Stables. The stallion was definitely the biggest star, winning twenties for movement, head/neck and type.
The prestigious Trophée Espoir award went to the Austrian skier Mario Matta for the mare MM Esplendida (RFI Farid – MM Eluise/WH Justice). It came second in the class of 2-year-old females.
