THE EXCITING WARSAW ARABIAN HORSE FESTIVAL 2015
AHCII chairman Lucas Lunevsky - Łukasz Łuniewski handed over the prizes in the name of the Arabian Horse Culture International Institute (AHCII) as a sponsor of Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan Arabian Horse festival
The World Arabian Horse Conference, devoted to promoting pure Arabian horse racing organized in Warsaw this year, was a spectacular success. On the Sunday afternoon three races included in the World Arabian Horse Festival under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahan, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, were held at the Służewiec Race Course.
During the last week of May an international event took place in Warsaw, of which the Warsaw Arabian Horse Festival 2015 was a part. On 28-30 May an international conference about racing Arabians, World Arabian Horse Racing Conference 2015, was organized. More than 400 experts from over 80 countries participated in numerous panel discussions on various subjects.
On Wednesday 27 May a press meeting was organized in the Marriott Hotel in Warsaw. The Warsaw conference was the sixth edition of the worldwide meeting of breeders, trainers, jockeys, veterinarians and other specialists involved in Arabian horse racing.
An important point of the Wednesday meeting was the draw, which assigned jockeys to the horses previously entered for apprentice races (HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Apprentice Champinship IFAHR) and for the ladies championship (HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Championship IFAHR). The races were a part of the Arabian Horse Festival planned for 31 May at the Służewiec Race Course.
In the main race of the day, Ofir’s Prize, after an exciting finish the 9-year old grey Amaretto ridden by the Italian jockey Mauro Manueddu triumphed for the fourth time. Amaretto won after fending off the attack by Westim, currently the best 5-year old Arabian. It is very likely that this superb Arabian will also race at Służewiec on 23 August, in the race for the Europe Price, included since 2010 in the worldwide cycle of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al. Nahyana, which he won in the previous three seasons.
In the ladies only race included in the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship IFAHR the winner was a representative of Morocco, Bouchra Marmoul, riding one of the favourites, Wasilew. It was the first win in her career. In the race for apprentices and trainee jockeys, HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Apprentice World Championship IFAHR, Perfektor ridden by the Belgian Zoe Vande Velde won with ease.
The trophies displayed on a specially prepared podium inside the track were presented by the UAE Ambassador, His Excellency Asim Mirza Al Rahma, Deputy Prime Minister Jerzy Piechociński, President of Totalizator Sportowy Wojciech Szpil and by Lara Sawaya, Director of the World Arabian Horse Festival. The Warsaw Arabian Horse Festival attracted crowds of Varsovians to Służewiec, especially families which children, for whom the organizers set up a special play zone.
