2015 - AL KHALEDIAH EUROPEAN ARABIAN HORSE FESTIVAL IN NOWE WROŃSKA
We can certainly say that the fantastic show, but also the wonderful weather which accompanies it and world class organization, are becoming a tradition. We refer to the European Arabian Horse Festival which took place in Nowe Wrońska new Płońsk for the second time, organized in the Polska AKF stud, which is a branch of the Al Khalediah stud of Saudi Arabia. This year the festival was held on 21-22 August. The weather was lovely, visitors attended in great numbers, the organizers and most importantly the Arabian horses, the heroes of the entire event, were at their best.
25th POLISH NATIONAL PURE BRED ARABIAN SHOW
This had to happen. Kwestura, the mare which held the record of the most expensive horse sold, had to pass on its crown as this year’s Pride of Poland Auction saw a new price record. The star of the evening was Janów’s Pepita (Ekstern – Pepesza/Eukaliptus), which beat Kwestura’s record by two hundred and fifty thousand Euro! After the auction the mare’s new owner, apparently from Switzerland, made his lap of honour with unhidden joy, Pepita in hand. Pepita’s record was not all.
ARABIAN DERBY 2015
On 26 July, ater the summer break, the Arabian Derby on a distance of 3000 m took place at the Służewiec Race Course. The main favourite was the chestnut Alladyn bred by the late Bogdan Tomaszewski, owned by Małgorzata and Paweł Włostowski and Małgorzata Ejneberg – Illis and Piotra Illis. The stallion fully met the expectations of his fans and won in great style, ridden by Szczepan Mazur. At the finish the invincible Alladyn left his rivals far behind to prove his outstanding form.
MEDITERRANEAN AND MIDDLE EAST CHAMPIONSHIP IN MENTON
On 13 – 14.06 the 25th Mediterranean and Middle East Championship took place in Menton. The memers of the Ground Jury were Jaroslav Lacina (CZE),Cristian Moschini (ITA),Vico Rocco (BRA), Anna Stojanowska (POL ) Marc Veray (FRA). In group A of yearling fillies the one who stood most most was D Shireen (Kahil Al Shaqab – Magic Mon Amour/Windsprees Mirage), whose high score gave her victory in the group as well as the prize for the best head. In group B the winner was Sultanat Al Shaqab (Marwan Al Shaqab – OFW Mishaahl/Mishaah). However, the prize for the best head in the grop went to Mozn Albidayer (SMA Magic One – Mattaharii/Magnum Chall HVP), which ultimately came second in the group.
25th ARABIAN JUNIOR SPRING HORSE SHOW IN BIAŁKA
The time has come at last, the curtain went up on the season of shows, meetings and exciting competitions, so long awaited by Arabian horse lovers. It aIl started at the show ring in Białka, in fantastic weather. The main role in the spectacle certainly belonged to the Janów Podlaski Stud, which ultimately left Białka with three gold, one silver and three bronze medals. Horses from the Michałów stud won one gold, two silver and one bronze medal in addition to the Best in Show title. Two Top Five titles were awarded to the Białka Stallion Depot. The 25th Arabian Junior Spring Horse Show in Białka, for yearling, two and three year old colts and fillies took place on June 6th and 7th. It was an exceptional event, the 25th jubilee, and abounded in interesting developments.
THE EXCITING WARSAW ARABIAN HORSE FESTIVAL 2015
The World Arabian Horse Conference, devoted to promoting pure Arabian horse racing organized in Warsaw this year, was a spectacular success. On the Sunday afternoon three races included in the World Arabian Horse Festival under the patronage of Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahan, Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, were held at the Służewiec Race Course.
HORSE DRAWN CARRIAGES BY ANDRZEJEWSKI
The process of creating the traditional wooden horse-drawn carriage needs a few weeks of wheelwrights, smiths, sprayers and upholsterers’ commitment. The wood seasoned properly, the good quality of steel, the use of oil paints and a wide range of upholstery materials such as natural leathers, suede, fleece and jacquard.
THE FRENCH WEEKEND AT SŁUŻEWIEC
The coming weekend will be very interestng for trotter lovers. As many as 6 races will be held over the two days. The best horses will meet in the France Prize race on Sunday. Apart from the France Prize race competition for the Prize of the President of the Polish Horse Racing Club Poza and the Sunday sulky race for Służewiec Race Track Prize and Prize of the President of the Trotter Breeders’ and Users’ Association look very interesting indeed. The admirers of cantering horses will also have no reason to complain about absence of attractions for them.
THE BOMB GOES UP, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!! THE INAUGURATION OF THE RACING SEASON AT SŁUŻEWIEC ON SUNDAY
After the winter break horses, jockeys and their admirers will return to the Warsaw race track. On Sunday, 19 April, for the first time in 2015, the favourite hit of the unforgettable Jarema Stępowski will be heard at 13.00. Nine races will take place on the inauguration day of the 71st season. There will be numerous additional attractions for the spectators, to which we now invite everyone.
WE SAY GOODBYE TO MRS IZABELLA PAWELEC-ZAWADZKA WITH GREAT SORROW AND PAIN.
It is with regret and constant disbelief that we share the sad news about the death on 28 March 2014 of Mrs Izabela Pawelec – Zawadzka. Mrs Pawelec-Zawadzka was the founder of the „Araby Magazine”, a member of the WAHO and ECAHO, one of the founders of the Polish Horse Breeders’ Association (PZHK), but most of all she was a volcano of energy, ideas and kindness.
INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW IN DUBAI - INTERNATIONAL ARABIAN HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP
The international Dubai horse show, Dubai International Arabian Horse Championship, took place in the United Arab Emirates for the twelfth time. The show lasted for three days (19 – 21.03). All classes were judged by a seven member Jury, composed of: Abdel Raouf Abbas – Egypt, Urs Aeschbacher – Switzerland, Claudia Darius – Germany, Joanne Lowe – United Kingdom, Maria Helena Ribeiro Perroy – Brazil, Francesco Santoro – Italy, Irina Stigler – Russia, Marianne Tengstedt – Denmark, Marek Trela – Poland, Marc Veray – France.
On the first day the contestants for the podium were mainly race and endurance horses. As in the saying that fortune’s wheel is never stopped, this time the results were hardly surprising.
POLISH BRED HORSES CONQUER QATAR! - QATAR INTERNATIONAL EQUESTRIAN FESTIVAL AD – DAUHA
In recent days (19 – 26.02) the event taking place in Qatar’s capital Ad – Dauha we could enjoy at least a few moments of sunlight. A few moments because even here the weather tends to be fickle. The organizer of the event was the Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club. During the Class A ECAHO Show Polish bred horses, or more precisely, their female representatives, marked their presence very clearly by winning high scores from the judges.
THE OSCARS HAVE BEEN AWARDED, UNANIMOUS VICTORY OF THE WIEŻA MOCY! - SCOTTSDALE 2015
Arabian horse lovers also had their great gala, at the one of the most important and oldest horse show in Scottsdale, Arizona in the United States. The show lasted 10 days (10 – 22 February) and was organized by the Arabian Horse Association of Arizona. It was the 60th time that Scottsdale hosted Arabian stars. The number proved very fortunate for SK Michałów.

WORLD ARABIAN CHAMPIONSHIP PARIS 2014
During the last weekend of November (28 – 30.11) Paris, the cultural capital of the world and an ever-living city, became the capital of Arabian horses and host to a circle of world class celebrities. Among them the best of the best – the Michałowice Stud which won the title of the Best Breeder! But that is not all …
In 2014 the Paris Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre hosted the World Arabian Championship for the sixth time. On Friday (28.12) the mares’ qualifiers took place, the stallions’ qualifiers on Saturday (29.12), and Sunday (30.12) was the day of impatiently awaited finals. Some surprises were in store, as well as long speculations about who will win the most coveted titles.
The Polish team put up an excellent performance, winning four medals: gold was awarded to Pustynia Kahila, silver to Morion and two bronze medals to Emira and Equator. Top Ten titles were awarded to Zigi Zana and Wilda.

THE 2014 EUROPEAN ARABIAN HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP
We had yet another chance to proudly listen to the Polish national anthem! This time it was during the European Championship, which was held on 25-26 October at the Azelhof equestrian centre near Lier. All that because of Equator from Michałów, which has been reigning as the European Champion. However, it does not end there; Poland also won seven medals!

VI POLISH SPORT CHAMPIONSHIP AND AUTUMN PURE-BRED ARABIAN SHOW IN JANÓW PODLASKI
On the October weekend of 10 – 12.10 the 2014 Autumn Arabian Auction took place in Janów Podlaski. It was combined with the Autumn Arabian Show and the Polish Pure-bred Arabian Sport Championship 2014. The contestants participated in Dressage, Show Jumping, Hunter Pleasure and Classic Pleasure classes, and in a Ladies English Side Saddle competition.
It was the lady riders in their magnificent gowns who attracted most attention. The colourfull autumn leaves floating in the air made a superb background for them. In fact what place other than Janów can make a more beautiful setting for welcoming autumn?
XXXII NATIONS CUP IN AACHEN
Polish pure-bred Arabian horses constantly prove that they are unequalled. Both the Nations’ Cup as well as the Breeders’ Cup fell into Polish hands! This was the eighth time in history that Poland won the Nation’s Cup, Lady Harmsworth’s Trophy, and the fifth time we took the Breeder’s Cup, that is Major Hedley’s Trophy. The Dąbrowski Mazurka was indeed a delight to our ears…
The XXXII Nations’ Cup in Aachen took place on 27 – 28 September, the organizer of this prestigious event being the German Arabian Breeder’s Union. Our representatives left Poland on Tuesday. The group included horses from SK Michałów, SK Janów Podlaski, Falborek Arabians Stud of Mr and Mrs Goździalski and Chrcynno-Pałac of Mr and Mrs Poszepczyński, Best Arabians of Mr W. Parczewski and Mr and Mrs M. J. Pietrzak.
UNITED ARAB EMIRATES DAY IN WARSAW'S SŁUŻEWIEC
On Sunday, 24th August, we attended one of the most important events that take place in Służewiec in Warsaw – the United Arab Emirates Day. It was held for the fifth time, and this year the Al Khalediah Poland Cup race was organised for the first time, under the auspices of the Polska AKF stud. The race was won by Aziz ridden by Martin Srnec, who left behind the favourite Ouzbeks du Panjshir ridden by Piotr Krowicki. Via Verdi Kossack ridden by S. Mazur came third, followed by T. Lukasek on Cepton. The race closed the AAl Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival organised by the Polska AKF stud from Nowe Wrońska. Wonderful crystal trophies were funded by the Julia Glassworks from Piechowice, a partner of the Polish Institute of Equestrian Culture (PIKJ).
AL KHALEDIAH EUROPEAN ARABIAN HORSE FESTIVAL AT THE POLSKA AKF STUD
The fanfares of Janów have not yet died down and we have not had time to start missing the show atmosphere, when another opportunity came up to admire the success of Polish horses. A triumph of Michałów Arabians, excellent organization, beautiful weather and a set of celebrated guests, this can be the only appropriate summary of the international show of the Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival held in Poland for the first time and organized by the stud Polska AKF in Nowe Wrońska. The entire set up was at top level, with His Royal Highness Khaled Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, owner of AKF, among the attendees. The Festival was held under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development and was hosted by the owner himself, His Royal Highness Khaled Bin Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

ARABIAN HORSE DAYS 2014 IN JANÓW PODLASKI
Arabian horses are the pride of Polish horse breeding. They are a symbol of the Poles’ love of horses and horsemanship that is many centuries old. The Arabian Horse Days are a great festival for breeders, trainers and stud employees, a celebration of their hard work, often taking years for results to be seen. The uniqueness of Arabian horses is appreciated all over the world, which was demonstrated by the exceptional gesture of the son of the heir to the throne of Bahrain, Prince Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa. The Prince of Bahrain presented a wonderful gift to Deputy Prime Minister Janusz Piechociński, the stallion Kuhailan Afas Maidaan. The stallion was bred in the royal stables of the King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. In his speech the prince underlined the world class of Polish Pure Bred Arabians. The Stallion Kuhailan Afas Maidaan will be become a part of the Janów stock.
During the auction the presence of Shirley Watts, wife of Charlie Watts, the Rolling Stones’ drummer, was visible as usual. Mrs Watts is an unchanging admirer of the Polish “pearls”. The main host of the Arabian Horse Days was Mr Leszek Świętochowski, President of the Agency for Rural Property. Among the guests were Mr Dariusz Młotkiewicz, Secretary of State in the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland, and Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, Mr Eugeniusz Grzeszczak.
The Arabian Derby at the Służewiec Race Course – 27 July 2014
The sounds of the classical 2400 m Derby for three-year-old Thoroughbreds have not died down yet (the race took place on 5 July) while the admirers of this sport are already looking forward to the blue ribbon for four-year-old Arabians, which is also called the Derby. It is a spectacular race because the horses, racing over a distance of 3000 m, pass by the spectators’ stands twice.
11th European Sports Championship for Arabian Horses in Janów Podlaski
Last weekend, 18-20 July, the Janów Podlaski Stud hosted a prestigious event, the 11th European Sports Championship for Arabian Horses. 67 horses from 5 European countries took part. Alongside horses from Polish herds, it was attended by horses from Austria, Germany, Sweden, Denmark and the UK. The Championship was held in compliance with the ECAHO rules. The competitions included Dressage, Show Jumping and Western Pleasure. The magic of Janów Podlaski combined with the unusual view of riders wearing cowboy hats and elegant ladies in beautiful historical outfits accompanied by galloping horses allowed the audiences and the participants to travel in time. Menton is a town in southern France, along the Franco-Italian border. It has been known among tourists as la perle de la France, that is "the pearl of France". It was in Menton that Arabian horse breeders celebrated the first day of summer. All because of the Mediterranean & Arab Countries Arabian Horse Championships held on 21-22 June 2014. Middle Eastern stables made up the majority of visitors to the event. The jury comprised a group of seven jurors: Koenraad Detailleur (Belgium), Manfred Hain (Germany), Murillo Kammer (Brasil), Francesco Santoro (Italy), Renata Schibler (Switzerland), along with Poland's representative, Dr Marek Trela.
